Vocation is not about becoming something but about following someone!
The Book of Genesis has two creation stories. The first narrates the world being created in six days and God resting on the seventh day. The second relates the disobedience of the first man and woman. This transgression of God's commandment was the opened door through which sin and death entered the world. The consequence of sin is death, according to the account.
But God was not satisfied with the entrance of sin and death into the world, so God offered the gift of reconciliation through the obedience of Jesus, the Son. God did the necessary reconciling with us through Jesus, and partakers of his divine nature, co-heirs with him and temple of the Holy Spirit (CCC 1265). This gift is called grace; it acquits all of us.
God offers the gift of grace to each of us. Yet, God does not take away our freedom to reject this precious gift. God has made all of us acceptable-this is called justification through the obedient suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus.
If you accept this gift of God, you are baptized into the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus. Thus, you continue a spiritual journey of learning how to continually listen to God's divine invitations, God's will for every chapter of your life. The Holy Spirit dwells in each baptized and speaks to each from the depths of our hearts. listen.
What are some experiences I had in life in which I felt the presence of God speaking to me? Do you experience God working through you in your life?
"Baptism is the source of that new life in Christ from which the entire life springs forth" (CCC 2101)
