PraySometimes, we just need a few words to capture the feeling in our hearts. Here are some "one-liners" of prayer to jot on your calendar or commit to memory; you may pick one daily. Lord, keep me in your tender care.Daily will I praise you, Lord. Lord, be my spiritual companion. Jesus, help me find meaning in my life. Lord, protect those I love. Lord, calm my restless soul. Lord thank you for your many blessings. Lord, I am fragile. Be my strength. Lord, help me be your loving servant. Lord, instruct me to be obedient to your word. Lord, we need your peace. Lord Jesus, accept my heart-felt praise. Lord, embrace my trials and my joy. Jesus, I come to you on bended knees, hear my prayer. Your gifts are amazing, O Lord, I am in awe! Thank you, Lord, for the gifts of wisdom and insight. Lord, reveal your plan to me. Lord, I praise and exalt you. My spirit rejoices in God my savior. Lord, Open my heart to your love. All for Jesus through Mary. Lord, help me to treat everyone with your love and compassion. TrustFather, I give myself to you, do with me as you will. For whatever you do, I thank you. I am ready for all. Let only your will be done in me, as is done in your creation. I ask nothing else. Father, I surrender; I place myself in your hands, Because you are my Father. And because I love you. Into your hands I commend my spirit. (©Tom Booth 1998 OCP Adapted from a prayer by Br. Charles de Foucauld) DoLord, help us to live in the present moment,Lord help us to pray in the light of this day. Lord, help us to love in the present moment. For we know not the time, so we give our lives, placing our trust in you, in the present moment. May I not dwell on the failures of the past, Drowning in sin that you have set free. May I just be with you and be who I'm meant to be, In the present moment. May I not dream of the glories of the future, Things that may never come to be. May I just be with you and be whom I'm meant to be, in the present moment. (©Tom Booth & Phil Baniewicz 2003) |
